The Haunting Experience

Zywiec’s | Through Nov. 2

If you dare, experience a night filled with your darkest nightmares at The Haunting Experience, home to the longest-running haunted hayride in Minnesota. In operation for over 30 years, this legacy of terror will have you jumping out of your seat. After the hayride, head over to the famous haunted house, where you will encounter monsters, maniacs and creatures beyond your imagination.

Frankenstein/Monster

Shepard Farm / Oct. 11 – 13, 5:30 p.m.

Cottage Grove City Hall / Oct. 18-20, 5:30 p.m.

Join us this October for Frankenstein/Monster, a modern twist on Mary Shelley’s classic, performed outdoors at the beautiful Shepard Farm and Cottage Grove’s City Hall Amphitheatre. 

This fresh adaptation delves deep into timeless themes of ambition, responsibility, love, and loss. When Victor Frankenstein’s fiancée, Elizabeth, reveals her near-death experience, it sets off a chain of events that leads Victor to attempt to conquer death itself.

Tickets are free to attend (Donations appreciated after the show)

Don’t forget to bring a chair and a cozy blanket to stay warm during the outdoor fall performance. 

Fall Fun Fest

Zywiec’s | Oct. 12-13, 17-20, 26-27 | 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Halloween doesn’t always have to be about a spine-chilling experience. If you are looking for a family-friendly activity that is little less scary and more playful, try out Fall Fun Fest for some Halloween attractions that are perfect for kids. Activities include a lights-on, no-scare tour of the haunted house, pumpkin painting, hayrides and so much more!

Halloween Goat Yoga

The Hayloft | Oct. 19, 10 a.m. 

Get ready to laugh, relax, and create unforgettable memories at our Goat Yoga class in the Haunted Hayloft. As you practice yoga poses, adorable goats will roam freely, playing, jumping, and even joining you on your mat.

No yoga experience needed! Our certified instructor will guide you through a fun and beginner-friendly class. After the session, enjoy a 15-minute cuddle session and snap some goat selfies.

Don’t forget to dress up in costume! Let’s make this Halloween extra special.

Goats in Costumes/Halloween Party

The Hayloft | Oct. 26, Noon

Get ready for a spooktacular adventure! 👻🎃

Join us for our Halloween Goat Bash and experience an afternoon of fun for all ages! Watch as adorable goats strut their stuff in their cutest costumes, then get up close and personal for some furry fun. Roast marshmallows by the bonfire, sip on warm beverages, and test your nerves on our spooky graveyard walk. Don’t forget to decorate your own mini pumpkin to take home as a souvenir!

No age limit, no costume required (but encouraged)! Everyone is welcome to join the festivities. Tickets are required for all attendees, ages 1-99.

Monster Bash Parade

Oct. 26, 10:00 a.m.

Get ready for a frightfully fun time at the annual Monster Bash Parade in Cottage Grove! This beloved community event features a procession of costumed monsters, ghouls, and other spooky creatures marching through the streets. Join the parade or watch from the sidelines as the town transforms into a Halloween wonderland. Don’t forget to wear your best costume and bring your candy bag!

The parade route will run from ISD #833 Service Center to the District Program Center next to Country Inn & suites. 

Halloween Extravaganza

Dodge Nature Center / Oct. 26, 12:00-4:00 p.m.

Trick-or-treat through the woods, ride on the hay wagon to look for ghosts and goblins, and meet slithery creatures. Try your luck at field games to win extra treats, then settle in for some silly science skits that will educate and entertain. Food will be available for purchase while you are enjoying the fall fun.

Tickets can be purchased online for $8 per person before 12 p.m. on October 25. Day-of at the gate tickets can be purchased for $10 per person.

Spooktacular!

Cottage Grove Ice Arena | Oct. 30, 5:30-8 p.m.

Head to the South Rink for an evening of Halloween fun as the rink is transformed into the ultimate, family-friendly, spooky experience complete with music, lights, fog and other festive goodies! Bring your skates and wear your best Halloween costume! Skate Rentals available for $5 per skater. Spectators are welcome. Tickets are required. Learn more and register

Pumpkin Chuck 

Peter Thompson Park / Nov. 1, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Looking for the perfect way to wind down after the horrors of Halloween? Come on out to Pumpkin Chuck to chuck, toss and roll them down the hill! Afterwards, the staff on site will clean up all the pumpkins guts. 

This is a free family event!
