Blizzard Bash

Join Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park on Feb. 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a day of sampling fun winter recreation activities like: 

  • Ice fishing 
  • Snowshoeing 
  • Kick-sledding 
  • Bonfires 
  • Food trucks 
  • and more! 

Snowshoes and kick sleds will be available for use at no cost. This event is free to attend with a vehicle permit, otherwise you may purchase a day permit for $7/vehicle. 

Dueling Pianos 

If you’re looking for a good time that will get you out of the cold, join River Oaks Golf Course and Event Center for their popular fan-favorite, dueling pianos, performed by the Sweet Keys. Sweet Keys brings music to life in an entertaining and exciting way for all to enjoy. Invite your friends and family along (21+) for an evening of delight and fun. Pricing begins at $50/person. Dinner is included.  

Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

Cottage Grove has many trails for snowshoers and cross-country skiers alike, whether you’re new to the hobby or an experienced adventurer.

Cottage Grove Ravine Regional Park has miles of multi-use, minimum maintenance and wonderfully packed trails. River Oaks Golf Course is regularly groomed and free to use trails are another great option! For those who prefer off-the-trail journeys, Grey Cloud Dunes SNA has acres of natural beauty along the Mississippi River.  

Want to try snowshoeing or cross-country skiing but don’t want to commit to purchasing any? Cottage Grove has two locations for equipment rental: 

  • Cottage Grove Ravine Regional park has snowshoe and cross-country ski rentals for $5 for children and $10 for adults on a first-come first-serve basis for 3-hour time slots. Remember, you also need a vehicle permit to enter Ravine Regional Park except on the first Tuesday of every month. Head to the Ravine Landing building at the park to get your rentals!  
  • Oakwood Park has a self-serve snowshoe rental trailer that includes two pairs of adult snowshoes for $15 per 2-hour timeslot. Snowshoes must be booked in advance on the registration website 

Snowmobiling 

For all the sledders out there, look to Cottage Grove’s Star Trail. The Star Trail consists of 140 miles of groomed, marked and maintained snowmobile trails in Washington County. Cottage Grove’s portion of the trail even runs right up to the local VFW so you can stop for a bite to eat with friends, or just to warm up on your journey. Outdoor Ice Rinks
